How many artists are available through the iTunes store?

I'm writing a term paper and was wondering if anyone has the actual number of artists that have music on the iTunes store. If not an exact number, a round estimate (over so many million) would be appreciated.|||It is hard to answer because they add artist all the time. They come from popular record labels, independent labels, plus you and I could put our music on iTunes if we wanted too.
